- Eligibility: Open to students in grades 9-12 by the March 31 deadline who are enrolled in U.S. schools or are dependents of U.S. military or civilian personnel overseas. Foreign exchange students, older students, and previous national winners are ineligible.
- Submission: Two-dimensional art (canvas or paper) expressing patriotism. A typed explanation (250 words or less) accompanies the submission45.

- Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest:
- Eligibility: Open to 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students by the October 31 deadline in U.S. schools or as dependents of U.S. military or civilian personnel overseas. Home-schooled students are also eligible.
- Submission: Typed essays (300-400 words) on a patriotic theme. No color or graphics allowed67.

- Submission: Three-dimensional art pieces (e.g., paper, papier-mâché, pottery, clay, metalwork) with a typed explanation of patriotism (250 words or less)
